How to set goals, and achieve them? I’m going to share the key steps in a bit, but before that;
I assume, we all love setting goals before new year. Even so, very few of us achieve those goals.
But, why? Wouldn’t it be great that If we nail every goal before every new year. Can you imagine the growth?
Besides setting goals, It is important to have an effective way to achieve them too. My tips are on the play here. Those tips kept me sane, dedicated, not only this but also, created easy ways to achieve my goals as well. I want to share them with you.
Write Them Down
If you just repeat your goals out loud I assure you, eventually, they will fly, and that is not a good thing. When you write your goals, absolutely, you are so much more focused on the details, Moreover, you’ll more likely achieve them. When we ask how to set goals? The first effective way for me is writing them down.
Writing is so darn powerful. Even if you don’t read your goals ever, this doesn’t affect anything. Your brain will process your intentions well. Furthermore, It will know exactly what to do next. Also, keep a journal for your goals, and see what happens…
Don’t Be Superficial When It Comes To Setting Goals
Setting superficial goals will make you lazy, because you’ll think that you have so many time to achieve them. However, this mindset may cause you to procrastinate. That’s why you will achieve less goals than you’ve originally planned by the end of the year. Firstly, we don’t want that to happen, right? In addition to this, let me give you a few example:
“I want to lose weight” Obviously, this is a superficial goal. “I want to lose 4 pounds by March” See, I just determined how many pounds I want to lose in a certain time. This will make you force to take action fast because obviously, you actually don’t have one year to achieve this goal.
You will make that happen, then you will jump to another goal which will leave you insanely satisfied by the time 2022.
Excuses Are Not Allowed
You don’t have any excuse to make, unless you have a serious solid reason.
Let’s say you wanted to learn to play a new instrument in 2020, but this crazy pandemic burst out. Besides, everywhere was closed, and you couldn’t go to a course. This, and similar excuses can’t be acceptable in 2021 because this year will be a year that we all achieve what we want, right?
You still can buy that instrument, and try to improve yourself by online courses. Once everything is okay, and you are able to go to learn that instrument face to face, you will shock everyone with your progress. Moreover, It will be so easy for you to learn new nota.
If we look for excuses, believe me there are so many of them. Most of the people around me always use the word ‘BUT…’ To be honest I hate this word because mostly what comes next is an excuse. This word keeps us in a cage, and makes us focus on the problem. The truth is you always have to focus on solutions to live the life you want.
There are so many people who are living their best life, because they crave to achieve their goals, and they look for a solution, set healthy habits to make it happen rather than focusing on excuses. Find Like-minded People
People with the same ideas, and passions motivate each other.
There will be always these people who are ready to give you a few pep talk when you feel like giving up. Plus It will be fun doing something together. I hope one day I can find people who share the same interests as me too.
If you have those kind of people beside you, be aware of how lucky you are. Besides, don’t be afraid of reaching them out. Do this, and moreover, offer them to start something together. They will be a great companion to you on this “how to set goals, and actually achieve them” journey.
If you don’t have people who share same interests as you, keep searching, Eventually we will find them, or they will, who knows.
What If You Gave Up?
We all have these times where we tend to make excuses, and give up. In those times, I want you to imagine If you did give up, how would you feel at the end of the year? I’m going to give you an example to make this clear.
The times when I wake up at 10 a.m. I immediately regret it, and say to myself like: “Darn, If I could’ve waken up at 7:00 a.m. I would get done most of the work by 10 a.m.”
See It is like “If I did stick to my goals, I would’ve achieved them by this time of year.”
Remind yourself; doesn’t matter how small the progress is, the important thing is never quitting because eventually you will get there. When you get there you will be proud of yourself that you never quit.
Achieve Bigger Goals
Your goal might be a bigger one right? Let’s say, you want to be successful at work, and you want to buy a new house. Try to write them down with details.
Which ways, and tools do you want to use to be successful at work? What kind of house you want? Make a research on the internet. Compare the prices, and make a plan how to buy it, when to buy it. Be more specific.
If one of your goals is travelling, which country do you want to go to the most? What’s their famous dish, what are the ‘must go’ places there? What is your plan to save money for your goal? Be more specific. Don’t let your words fly.
This is my favorite part. Basically, you find pictures on the internet related to your goals, then you print them out, and glue to your vision board. By this way, you will be constantly remined of what you want. On the other hand, It will make you take action easily because you know that your goal is right there, and you have to do something about it.

Firstly, If you share your goals with everyone, your brain will think that you’ve already achieved them. But how?
If someone praise you about your intentions, eventually, It will feel like you have that title, and status that you’ve wanted to achieve. So unintentionally you will make less effort in order to reach your goals.
